Gaza Religious Ministry Accuses Israel of Exhuming Graves and Stealing Bodies in Khan Younis

The Ministry of Religious Endowments in Gaza accused the Israeli army on Friday of committing a horrific act by exhuming graves and stealing the bodies of martyrs and deceased individuals after raiding a cemetery in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Ministry condemned the incident as “a blatant violation of all religious and humanitarian values and norms.”
In a statement, it said:
“In a scene that defies the bounds of humanity and strips away all religious and international principles, Israeli occupation forces committed yet another horrific crime at dawn on Thursday by bulldozing and exhuming graves and stealing the remains of martyrs and the dead.”
The Ministry described the act as a “barbaric and criminal behavior that is condemned by all religions and laws.”
It emphasized that “this crime constitutes a flagrant violation of the sanctity of the dead, a blatant assault on the holiness of cemeteries and the dignity of human beings after death. It reveals the extent of the moral degradation of the occupation, which not only kills the living but now pursues the dead in their graves.”
The statement also noted that the Israeli army has deliberately destroyed 40 out of 60 cemeteries across the Gaza Strip under what it called “false pretexts.”
