Gaza – Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital Faces Imminent Shutdown Within Hours

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, located in the central Gaza Strip, is at risk of shutting down within hours due to a fuel shortage and the failure of its main generator, the hospital administration warned on Monday evening, July 7, 2025.
In a press statement received by Sawa News Agency, the hospital announced that its main generator had broken down and that spare parts required for repairs are unavailable. It stressed that the depletion of fuel in the coming hours could endanger the lives of hundreds of patients inside the facility.
The statement warned that the hospital’s closure would disrupt healthcare services for nearly half a million people living in the central governorate.
The hospital administration called on the international community and relevant authorities to take immediate action to save the hospital.
