Hamas responds to Katz’s statements
Hamas confirmed that the announcement by Israeli Security Minister Yisrael Katz of escalating his army’s operations against Gaza City, after weeks of a brutal assault on the city, represents an unprecedented challenge to international laws and humanitarian norms, and constitutes an open admission of criminal intentions to destroy a populated city and blackmail its residents through massacres, while embarking on committing genocide in the city, destroying its neighborhoods, and pressuring its residents into forced displacement.
The movement said in a statement Friday that the targeting of densely populated residential towers full of displaced people is part of its criminal attempts to force city residents into displacement, which amounts to a crime against humanity. As for its false allegations that these buildings are used by the resistance, they are nothing but exposed pretexts to pass its brutal crime and mislead global public opinion.
